National Honor Society
The
purpose of the National Honor Society is to “create enthusiasm for scholarship,
to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop
character in the students of secondary schools.”
Membership
in the Society is not something for which students can apply, but rather an
honor bestowed upon students by a faculty council and is based on outstanding
scholarship, leadership, character and service.
Selection Procedure
1. In the Spring of the year the Guidance
Counselor reviews academic records of juniors and seniors to determine scholastic
eligibility of students. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher.

will be notified in writing and offered a Student Activity Information Form
which they are encouraged to complete and return to the guidance office.

the candidate will be selected by the faculty committee.
The form does ensure that the faculty committee will have as much pertinent
