What's New

Labor Day on Monday, September 7: No School

Referendum Fact of the Week!

Each week from now until November 3, we’ll take this opportunity to educate our families on the upcoming Operating Referendum.

Did you know- the question on the November 3 ballot will not go into effect until the 27-28 school year and will impact your 2027 tax bill. The 2026 tax bill is still part of our prior 3 year referendum. When the 3 year referendum sunsets this winter, the referendum on the November ballot will take effect for the 4 school years after. At no point will taxpayers be impacted by two WBSD referendums at the same time.

ParentSquare

Parents need to be listed as a parent/guardian for their students in Skyward to be able to receive notifications/log into ParentSquare.

Downloading the app and activating their account will provide parents/guardians with the means to interact/communicate more with their students' teachers/classes. It is needed for things like electronic forms, parent-teacher conference sign ups, responding to item requests, and more.

Donuts with Grown-Ups

Williams Bay PTO invites you and your family to enjoy a donut in the Williams Bay Elementary School cafeteria to spend time with your child, staff, and other WB families. Please join us on Friday, Sept. 11 from 7:30-8:15 AM.

Complimentary donuts, milk, coffee, and water will be available from 7:30-8:00 AM. Students must remain in the cafeteria until the bell rings at 8:15. At that time, STUDENTS ONLY will go to the playground/blacktop area.

Parents and other family members will exit through the front doors. Please do not go to the playground/blacktop with the students.

Thank you Delavan Dunkin Donuts for donating the donuts and coffee!

WBES PBIS

PBIS Building and Classroom Expectations

What is PBIS?
  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is a proactive systems approach to establishing the behavior supports and social culture needed for all students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
Why PBIS?
  • At Williams Bay Elementary School, we are using PBIS as a process for creating a safer and more effective school. PBIS focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students.
The purpose of implementing PBIS at Williams Bay Elementary School is to:
  • establish a consistent method of addressing student behaviors
  • reward/acknowledge children for appropriate behaviors
  • decrease off-task behavior
  • increase and gain back instructional minutes
  • improve our school’s ability to teach positive behavior for all students in all settings
Ways to Help at Home
• Talk to your child about his/her day • Keep communication between you and your child’s teacher active throughout the year • Focus on the positive choices your child is making
• Find ways to practice positive behavior and expectations at home and in community • Teach your children to speak respectfully to others and to use manners • Practice positive phrases with your child such as: thank you, please, excuse me, and I’m sorry
Classroom Expectations: These are general. Teachers will also collaborate with students to develop classroom expectations specific to their classroom.
Building Expectations: If your child is moved to another table at lunch, please talk to your child about what caused them to be moved.
