Williams Bay School District Referendum

Dear Williams Bay Families,
In April 2024, our community came together to approve a three-year operating referendum for the Williams Bay School District. Thanks to your support, we were able to protect small class sizes, maintain high-quality academic and extracurricular programming, retain dedicated staff, and keep our district budget balanced. True to our promise, the District levied only what was necessary, keeping tax impacts neutral or minimal for our community.
As that three-year term concludes at the end of this school year, the Board of Education is asking our community to "Continue the Commitment" on the upcoming November 3rd ballot.
Voters will be asked to consider a non-recurring four-year operational referendum. If approved, this authorization to exceed the state revenue limit will directly fund day-to-day district operating expenses across the following years:
- 2027–2028: $2,000,000
- 2028–2029: $2,250,000
- 2029–2030: $2,500,000
- 2030–2031: $2,750,000
Please note that this referendum does not increase the District’s total budget, nor does it represent new or additional spending. Instead, it simply allows us to maintain our current, steady operational budget. As a result, this measure will have a zero-net-increase (neutral) impact on your district tax rate.
We warmly invite all of our families to learn more about the referendum, why it is needed, and how the outcome will directly shape the future of our schools and programs. Here is how you can get informed and involved:
- Explore Online: Visit our school district website to review detailed information, financial breakdowns, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
- Attend an Information Session: Join us for a Community Presentation on Wednesday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the school library/auditorium.
- Connect Directly: Mrs. Frederick and I are always available to answer your questions. Please feel free to email, call, or stop by anytime.
We are deeply grateful for the partnership and trust our families place in the Williams Bay School District every day. Thank you for taking the time to learn about this important vote and how it supports our students.
Sincerely,
Dr. William White
District Administrator
