Referendum Fact of the Week!

The Williams Bay School District has established a tradition of excellence and we want to protect a first class education for our children. The Williams Bay School District produces the most well-rounded students in Walworth County and the state of Wisconsin. Our students are provided with small class sizes and individualized instructional opportunities. They are given access to high quality curriculum and instruction and are provided a safe and secure learning environment. They can take numerous AP courses, courses through Gateway, UW-Whitewater and other institutions of higher learning, and a rich array of courses offered through virtual programs. 85 students have earned 3 or more college credits from Gateway since the Fall of 2022 saving over $49,000 in tuition costs. They have access to numerous sports, clubs, and enrichment programs. They are provided leadership opportunities and actively volunteer throughout the community. A high quality education has enabled our graduates to be accepted into Stanford, MIT, Yale, and Swarthmore, along with approximately 20% of our graduates attending UW-Madison each year. Additionally, it has allowed students to earn prestigious scholarships including Herb Kohl. If voters do not approve the operating referendum on November 3, 2026 ballot, the Board will need to reduce expenditures in the 2027-2028 budget by $2 million and increase class sizes, eliminate of course offerings, reduce co-curricular offerings, reduce staffing, and make other reductions that impact the quality of education in the Williams Bay School District.

WBES PBIS

PBIS Building and Classroom Expectations

What is PBIS?
  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is a proactive systems approach to establishing the behavior supports and social culture needed for all students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
Why PBIS?
  • At Williams Bay Elementary School, we are using PBIS as a process for creating a safer and more effective school. PBIS focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students.
The purpose of implementing PBIS at Williams Bay Elementary School is to:
  • establish a consistent method of addressing student behaviors
  • reward/acknowledge children for appropriate behaviors
  • decrease off-task behavior
  • increase and gain back instructional minutes
  • improve our school’s ability to teach positive behavior for all students in all settings
Ways to Help at Home
• Talk to your child about his/her day • Keep communication between you and your child’s teacher active throughout the year • Focus on the positive choices your child is making
• Find ways to practice positive behavior and expectations at home and in community • Teach your children to speak respectfully to others and to use manners • Practice positive phrases with your child such as: thank you, please, excuse me, and I’m sorry
Classroom Expectations: These are general. Teachers will also collaborate with students to develop classroom expectations specific to their classroom.
Building Expectations: If your child is moved to another table at lunch, please talk to your child about what caused them to be moved.
