Note from th Nurse

Dear Families,

This is a reminder to be on the lookout for signs of head lice. Head lice can spread easily among children through close head-to-head contact, and they can affect anyone, regardless of age, hygiene, or cleanliness.

Please take a few minutes to check your child’s hair and scalp regularly, especially behind the ears and around the neckline. Early detection and prompt treatment help prevent the spread of head lice.

Signs to watch for include:
● Frequent itching or scratching of the scalp.
● A tickling or crawling sensation in the hair.
● Small red bumps or irritation on the scalp or neck.
● Tiny eggs (nits) attached to hair strands, often close to the scalp.
● Live lice, which are small, tan or grayish insects that move quickly.

For information about treating head lice, please visit the CDC’srecommendations at: https://www.cdc.gov/lice/treatment/index.html

If you have questions or need additional information, please contact the School Nurse at jbishop@williamsbayschool.org or 262-245-5571

Thank you for helping keep our school safe and healthy.

Holiday Help 2026

To Williams Bay School Families and Community,

As the holiday season approaches, we recognize that this time of year can bring extra stress and financial anxiety for families wondering how to provide a memorable holiday for their children. To support our local community, the Williams Bay School District is proud to host our annual Holiday Help Program.

We are collecting donations to assist families experiencing hardships during the December
holidays (including Christmas, Hanukkah, and other celebrations). All donations go directly
toward purchasing requested items—such as clothing, toys, and gift cards—for local
children.

If your family would like to contribute to the Williams Bay Holiday Help Fund, donations
can be dropped off or mailed to either the elementary or middle/high school office. Make
checks payable to “Williams Bay School”. If you prefer, you can use the Venmo QR code
(@williamsbaysd) below. Please memo or note “Holiday Help Fund” on your donation.

To allow time to plan and purchase items, please make donations by December 10, 2026.
The Holiday Help Program operates discreetly to respect family privacy. Members of our staff will reach out directly to families identified for support this season. However, if your family is currently experiencing hardship and you would like to beconsidered for the program, please contact Mrs.Williamson at mwilliamson@williamsbayschool.org.

All requests for consideration must be received by November 22, 2026.

Thank you for your continued generosity and dedication to supporting our students and
families this holiday season.

K-5th Grade Winter Musicals, December 11

Our winter concerts will be a little different this year. Instead of one concert for all students in 5K-5th grade, Mrs. Doebler has decided to showcase each grade level combination in a mini musical. After each performance we kindly ask all audience members to leave the gym with their belongings so we can prepare for the next performance. We will also provide a queue for families to get in line before the doors open for each performance. Families may take their student(s) home after they perform by checking them out from the classrooms with their homeroom teacher. The performance start times are below so you can plan accordingly.
  • 9:00 - 3K/4K Holiday Concert and Cookie Reception
  • 10:30 - 5K/1st Grade mini Musical
  • 1:00 - 2nd/3rd Grade Mini Musical
  • Short intermission (The gym will not close during this intermission, but we ask anyone not staying for the 4th and 5th grade show to exit quickly to make room for families just arriving.)
  • 2:00 - 5th grade band followed immediately by they 4th/5th Grade Mini Musical

WBES PBIS

PBIS Building and Classroom Expectations

What is PBIS?
  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is a proactive systems approach to establishing the behavior supports and social culture needed for all students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
Why PBIS?
  • At Williams Bay Elementary School, we are using PBIS as a process for creating a safer and more effective school. PBIS focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students.
The purpose of implementing PBIS at Williams Bay Elementary School is to:
  • establish a consistent method of addressing student behaviors
  • reward/acknowledge children for appropriate behaviors
  • decrease off-task behavior
  • increase and gain back instructional minutes
  • improve our school’s ability to teach positive behavior for all students in all settings
Ways to Help at Home
• Talk to your child about his/her day • Keep communication between you and your child’s teacher active throughout the year • Focus on the positive choices your child is making
• Find ways to practice positive behavior and expectations at home and in community • Teach your children to speak respectfully to others and to use manners • Practice positive phrases with your child such as: thank you, please, excuse me, and I’m sorry
Classroom Expectations: These are general. Teachers will also collaborate with students to develop classroom expectations specific to their classroom.
Building Expectations: If your child is moved to another table at lunch, please talk to your child about what caused them to be moved.
